Diving off from an intense and extensive lore, this project is a mockup cutscene for a VR video game explaining the untimely demise of a woman named Ethel Cain.
Ethel Cain is an experimental indie artist, who’s concept album, Preacher’s Daughter, informed the style and tone of this video.
Pulling directly from her song “Ptolemaea”, we are put in the room where Ethel’s character dies, being cannibalized by her lover in the humid south. This project brings to life her final days, as told through the voice of her lover and of death itself. Utilizing Blender to create a 3d room, this video was then animated and edited in Adobe AfterEffects- marking my first time exploring the free 3d rendering software, Blender.
